Everybody wants D-I-Y Estate Planning resources. For most people, asking for the D-I-Y Estate Planning resources gives them an easy way out of the responsibility of doing some actual estate planning.
Does that sound harsh?

We’ve done a lot of Guardian Nomination Workshops & Estate Planning talks at this point AND we have had a few potential clients call us wanting to know if they can just “D-I-Y.”
Of the people who have attended one of our talks or workshops and have asked for access to our online membership site, only 10% have actually signed up. I imagine of that 10%, ZERO have actually filled out the materials on their own.
Why is that?
I have theories. I won’t bore you with them.
All I know is that…it seems like when people don’t invest the time and money into booking an appointment, they don’t get the estate planning done. Then time passes and they eventually forget that it’s important to put a plan together for if there’s an emergency or if something happens to you. Then they get some emails from us reminding them that they still haven’t done anything and they opt-out of our emails because we just made them feel guilty.
Take whatever action you want following this. The easiest is to do nothing, of course. Or to unsubscribe.
Just to advocate for ourselves, though, (this is OUR site after all) the number one comment we get from clients is that we made it easier than they thought it was going to be.
